Simple Stories – Album

April 26, 2012 in Uncategorized

I recently finished an album using the NEW Simple Stories Mix & Match Album and the Documented Collection Set. I have 2 of these little albums in hand and this one is a gift for a friend of mine (I’m not going to post the cover yet, as I have not given her the album yet). The 2nd album is not completed yet, but I’ll share it once it is.

This album is a wedding album, my friend can just fill in her photos and journal. I have 3 sections: Prep, Ceremony and Reception. I added in some 4×6 Memorabilia Pockets and I love that the album comes with 6×8 journal pages that match the documented kit – no need to buy the extra pack!!

Note: this post will be picture heavy!

Welcome to the my blog and the MemoryWorks Spring Fling Blog Hop! I’m so excited to be apart of this hop and showing you a project I made with one of the NEW lines MemoryWorks is carrying in their Spring / Summer catalog! The line I’ve chosen to work with is the new Amy Tangerine line – Sketchbook! Seeing this line online does not give it justice! The colors in person are bold, bright and FUNKY! The patterns are fantastic as well! Well lets get this party started!!

I have created a Mini album using 4×6 photo page protectors (cut apart from 2-ups) and my Cinch machine to bind it all together. The cover is made out of chipboard I had laying around. The album is centered around photos that are taken at the spur of a moment.

Blog Award

January 31, 2012 in Uncategorized

My friend and fellow TeamWorks member Cathie, recognized me on her blog. Thanks Cathie! I’m so excited she is on the MemoryWorks team this year to share her talents and passion for scrapbooking.

Now it’s my turn to pass the award along to 5 blogs.

1. Christine: Your cards are ‘wow’ inspiring! I seriously need to pay more attention to your blog and your work with Copic markers and stamping!

2. Rosann: I love Rosann’s personality and it has been so fun to see her style revolve over the past 2 years.

3. Sandy: She doesn’t blog much, but she is one of my best friends and an amazing crafter. I’d actually say – check out her Etsy site, that is where you will see her new adventures in crafting.

4. Kelly: Another TeamWorks member. Kelly has an amazing scrapbook style that is so inspiring! This is the 2nd year she is on the TW team and I can’t wait to get to know her even more.

5. Janey: Janey is so sweet and I’ve had the chance to meet her twice and spend 2 awesome weekends with her for MemoryWorks Retreats! She is so full of life and joy! Her blog is a mix of different things creativity wise (baking, home decor, scrapbooking and more!)

In accepting the award, the recipient agrees to:
  • Thank the person who gave the award and link back to their blog (I just did that!)
  • Copy and paste the award to your blog (done!)
  • Reveal the 5 blogs you have chosen to award this honor and why, and then let those bloggers know they have been chosen by commenting on their blogs.
  • Hope they pay it forward by accepting and awarding it to bloggers they would like to honor.

I [heart] cards

January 27, 2012 in Uncategorized

Often times when I get paper lines, create a layout or 2, I have random left over pieces left over. These are PERFECT for cards. I love making mini cards (3×4). I often use 6×6 paper pads for these cards. I actually have preferred to purchase 6×6 paper pads lately vs. 12×12 sheets of paper or paper packs. They take up less room in my craft space and I just love crafting with these smaller versions of the larger paper!

So here are a few cards I have created lately using various 6×6 paper pads and coordinating journaling cards. So simple and I love the results.

Love Day Card

Also, my Friend Bonnie celebrated a Birthday this week, so made her this card and decorated some packaging with a little gift to her.

And here is a Thank you Card I made for Matt’s Mom.

I love creating these quick cards. They use up paper in my stash and are on a smaller scale to make them easy and quick to create.

Crochet Hearts

January 26, 2012 in Uncategorized

School starts back up on Monday… in the mean time  I’ve been getting some quality time with my knitting in. In recent weeks I’ve added 2 NEW products to my Etsy shop, Americana Coffee Cozy and as of last night Crochet Hearts.

Crochet Hearts started out as a custom order from a friend looking for such item. I completed her order and thought maybe others would like to use them as well. My friend Bonnie works with many medias and products to create her pieces of art. Her blog is full of her projects, thoughts, ideas and vintage.

So I decided to make some sets for my Etsy shop. The Crochet Hearts come in packs of 5, they measure approximately 1 ½” x 1 ½”. The hearts have loosely attached tails that measure around 9″. These can easily be removed by pulling the string out.

Crochet Heart - Freesia

I have listed hearts in: Freesia, Oxford Grey, Silver Heather, White, Cream, Cotton Candy and Red.

Crochet Hearts - Oxford Grey

Here are a few ideas to do with the hearts…
- Gift and packaging (per my friend Bonnie)
- Bookmark (per my friend Sandy)
- Wrap Around Napkins (per my friend Sandy)
- Hanging them in a window or off light fixtures (per my friend Sandy)
- Use for paper crafting (on cards, scrapbook layouts, etc)
- Home Decor
The possibilities are ENDLESS!

I have also added a few new SweetHeart Coffee Cozies, including this Charcoal Grey with Freesia Heart!

SweetHeart Cozy

Isn’t it sweet?!? More Crochet Heart colors to come including Seashell (which is a coral color). Plus MANY more cozies, including an Americana Coffee Cozy in Oatmeal and Gold! These Coffee Cozies make perfect gifts for Valentine’s day, purchase a pack of Crochet Hearts to wrap around the packaging with a tag and you have one adorable customized wrapping!

If you are a MemoryWorks consultant and frequent the message board you know each month the TeamWorks team hosts a challenge. The REALLY awesome thing in 2012 is that this challenge is shared on the MemoryWorks blog each Wednesday of the month. Beginning with the Monthly Challenge and followed by projects following this challenge by TeamWorks members.

This month Lynn Darda is the Challenge host and she picked the challenge of using 3 brands of products on one layout, card or project. Well I’m always up for a challenge and I came up with the following layout!

January Challenge 2012

I used Fancy Pants: Love Story, Lily Bee: Head Over Heels, Crate Paper: Paper Hearts (which was included in the January MemoryWorks Express Kits).

There are lots of adorable Valentine / lovey products available right now in the MemoryWorks Trend Essentials shopping area. Have you created anything special?? Share a link to your blog or gallery in my comments area! I love looking at other peoples work… it fresh and inspiring!

Creative RUT

January 16, 2012 in Uncategorized

Have you ever found yourself in a creative rut? Well okay, I’m sure you have. I’ve been in a HUGE one. With school and other design work taking up majority of my time, I haven’t really scrapbooked much since last summer. This month though, I decided before school starts up again (January 30th), I would try to get my creative MoJo BACK! This past weekend I finished a project I wanted done by the end of the summer… well obviously that didn’t happen (I do not have pictures of this quite yet). SO today I’m going to share some projects I made for MemoryWorks this month!

First, a few projects from the January Inspiration located on the MemoryWorks Website. I used Little Bicycle papers, located in the Trend Essentials area of the shopping cart.

Winter Layout

Next, I made this string of “Winter Activities”.

Winter Actvity Tags

I also made a layout recently for the MemoryWorks blog. I used a darling line from Lily Bee Designs called Head Over Heels.

Sweet Hearts Layout

Too see close ups of this layout – check out the MemoryWorks Blog.

I hope to be back soon with more projects that I’ve completed lately and hopefully keep this blog up a little more in the new year. Possibly share some of my school projects!?!

Cozy Up and Unglue!

November 14, 2011 in Uncategorized

Can you say – HORRIBLE BLOGGER? I have been so swamped with school, knitting, traveling, and design work for the dance studio, that I have neglected my blog.

I finally am getting around to some scrapbooking (it has been a month or so now since I’ve been able to work on any projects).

School is going amazing! I love every minute of it (even the stressful moments), but I’m learning SO much and feel my designing / creativity expand in graphic design.

I wanted to share an event that is coming up in Fargo. From Black Friday through Christmas Eve a consignment shop called UnGlued will be opened on the weekends downtown Fargo (on Broadway). All handmade goods from local and regional artists! I’m so lucky to be apart of it and having my coffee cozies for sale in the shop! I also have lots of items available in my Etsy shop still.

unglued poster – Details for the event.

I will have 3 cozies styles available in the shop in a variety of colors. Cozies including:

Sweatheart Cozy

Tea Cozy

Latte Cozy

Colors may vary in the shop (the items above are for sale in my Etsy shop).
