Father’s Day Album – Day 2

July 13, 2012 in Uncategorized

Welcome back to another look at the father’s day album I created for my dad. Missed Day 1? No problem, check out yesterday’s post!

Lets get started. Again, I apologize, the pictures of this album did not turn out very well and there is a glare on some of the pages due to the page protectors.

In the 2 images below I used an Odds & Ends 6×8 Memorabilia pocket. I matted some pictures that I liked, but would not fit in the album and slipped them into the pocket.

Father’s Day Gift – Day 1

July 12, 2012 in Uncategorized

I know that Father’s day was a month ago, but I was finally able to give my dad his gift! I made him an album using the Simple Stories Mix & Match album along with the Simple Stories Generations theme set to create an album of family pictures. My mom helped me out and gave me a bunch of pictures of my grandma and grandpa when they were younger and growing up throughout the years. I spent days scanning them in and restoring some of the older pictures. Both my dad’s parents have passed and I thought it would be a great keepsake for him! My dad now has this album as well as the digital pictures of the older pictures to use at his leisure, without any harm to the originals.

If you haven’t taken on a family heritage album, I highly recommend it. To look through the old pictures so rich of history was so much fun. Sure the scanning part takes awhile, but than you can share those pictures with family and friends of the family without ruining the originals.

I will present this in 4 parts, as there are 60 pictures.

Note: I’m not sure how my photo taking skills failed me when I was photographing this album. But hopefully you can get an idea of what the pages look like. Also there is a glare fromt he page protectors on many of the pages. Again, I apologize.

If you couldn’t tell, my grandpa was a twin. IN the army they would call them Mike & Ike.

Alright, day 1 of 4 is completed.  Come back tomorrow for more images of this album. Thanks for stopping by and have a great Thursday!

MemoryWorks – Birthday Blog Hop

June 26, 2012 in Uncategorized

Welcome to the MemoryWorks 10th BIRTHDAY PARTY blog hop!! I’m so excited to be celebrating 10 years of MemoryWorks existence with them. I’ve been with the company since 2005.

Today I’ll be sharing a layout! In February I turned 30. This was VERY hard for me (however, I got over it quite quickly). The week of my birthday I was a wreck. I wasn’t where I wanted to be in life (what I had planned for myself many moons ago). That was a hard fact for me. Though I’m working on taking those steps in life (I went back to school last fall to get a BFA in Graphic Design).

This layout is some photos I took of myself when I turned 30 and shortly after. Good Bye 20s and HELLO Fabulous 30s! I’m ready to take you on!

I’m 30

I must say, I think Lucas (Colin’s older brother) was more excited about the cake than Colin. Lucas LOVES anything cake or icecream or sweet treats. There are some pictures (not included) of Lucas eating cake pieces off the floor, the seat of the highchair and off the highchair top, while Colin was off playing in his new water table. I love THESE kids!!!

1 Years old – part 1

June 11, 2012 in Uncategorized

My nephew turned 1 in May. I created an album for my brother & sister in law with pictures from his Birthday Party. I will show this in 2 parts as there are many pages. Today is part 1 of 3!

I used a Simple Stories Mix & Match Album. I LOVE these little albums. The pages measure 6×8 and are fabulous with the photo dividers. I used the Simple Stories – Happy Day line to complete this album.

MemoryWorks Turns 10

June 6, 2012 in Uncategorized

This month, MemoryWorks celebrates it’s 10th Birthday. I’ve been a consultant with the company for 7 years now I believe and served on their design team for 5 years. This month on the consultant message board the TeamWork team is hosting challenges, a chat and a E-crop! And for everyone to enjoy on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 the Team will be hosting a Blog Hop featuring Birthday related projects!

Today I thought I’d share a layout I created for the June Monthly Challenge. The challenge was to follow a sketch and create a birthday themed project. I used 2 pictures from my nephews 1st birthday and the My Mind’s Eye: Be Amazing paper line.
